Inspiration (photography)

My inspiration comes from seeing what others are doing. There is a web site that allows me to view other people's work and at the same time others can see what I've done. This site is JPGmag.com; it's also an actual magazine as well (check your local book store for a copy). What makes this magazine unique is that the content is from the users (you and I). Besides just viewing images on the site you can vote on the images that you think should be in the next issue of JPG magazine. See how this works.

Back to "my inspiration," at JPGmag.com you can pick your favorites from other people. Here are my favorites - photos varying in themes from nature, structures, portraits, to regular snapshots. At the site you can also view some of the images that I've submitted. I've got two images that are being voted on:

If you like my work and it has inspired you like some of the images from the site have inspired me, then "vote now" by clicking on the images above. You may have to become a member to vote - membership is free but best of all, you can share your work and possibly inspire someone...

...like me.

Ordering Prints - Coming Soon

Last year I had many requests for prints of my work. At the time I only sold "digital files" of my images. That way I wouldn't have to hassle with printing out the images and mailing off the prints to the buyer. With the digital file of the image, the customer could have the image printed themselves.

This year I will be using the services of Smugmug. My images will be hosted at Smugmug where they can be viewed and prints purchased. Smugmug will handle the printing and mailing of the images. I could also sell the "digital files" through them as well but I think I will leave out the middle man and continue to sell those myself like I've done in the past.

Chris Patterson (JamFoto.net) has an account at Smugmug and he had only good things to say about them. He answered a few question I had. Thanks Chris! I will be using his referral code PHAxh8zDvH29I when I set up my Smugmug account. With this code I'll be saving $5 and Chris saves $10 on his Smugmug renewal.

I should have my Smugmug account set up at around the time of the first race of the season - Patterson Road Race 1/27/07.

Blog Objective

The objective of this blog will be to enhance my website photo gallery. This blog will give the visitors of my site the chance to communicate with me by leaving feedback in the comments sections of each posting. Posting will include (but not limited to) product reviews, photo critiques, and/or random thoughts that may spew from my head. So consider this a warning. Seriously though, thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back soon.
